About me

Emma (they/she) is a queer-identified licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has helped 140+ individuals from all over the state of Indiana to achieve a voice that is congruent with their gender. Emma specializes in gender-affirming voice training for individuals with feminine, masculine, androgynous, and gender-fluid voice goals. She also specializes in peri-operative voice therapy for individuals undergoing gender-affirming, pitch-raising voice surgery.

Areas of Clinical Interest/ Specialization: 

  • Voice feminization

  • Voice masculinization – with or without testosterone

  • Fluid, non-binary voice training free from conventional gender norms 

  • Voice therapy following gender-affirming voice surgeries such as anterior web glottoplasty, laser laryngoplasty, feminization laryngoplasty with thyrohyoid elevation 

  • Voice consultation services to educate clients on effects that HRT, voice training, and voice surgery can have on the voice 

  • Voice consultation services for singers interested in starting HRT

  • Rehabilitative voice therapy for vocal injuries (e.g. pressed voice, strain, muscle tension)

  • Non-traditional models for service delivery: Group, community settings, telehealth 

  • Considerations of dialectal differences during gender-affirming voice training
